Can you swim in Victoria Falls?
Yes, but only in designated locations and under guided conditions.
The most famous swimming experience is Devil's Pool, located near the edge of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. Visitors can swim in a naturally formed rock pool protected by a rocky lip. Angel's Pool is a high water alternative, with a bit more distance to the edge.
Swimming is never permitted across the waterfall itself and should only take place with licensed operators following local safety regulations.
The Zambezi River contains strong currents as well as wildlife including crocodiles and hippos, making unsupervised swimming dangerous.
